Every night across America, over 33,000 U.S. military veterans are homeless.
Some sleep in cars. Others under bridges. Many simply disappear into the shadows — out of uniform, out of work, out of options.

It’s not just a crisis.
It’s a national shame.

From Boots on the Ground to No Ground at All

Imagine this:

You dedicate years of your life to serve your country. You do everything you’re asked to do — and more.
You come home changed.
But the support isn’t there.
The transition is harder than anyone prepared you for. PTSD hits. Jobs don’t come easy. Relationships strain. Rent piles up. You get left behind in a system that promised to have your back.

This is the story we hear again and again from the veterans we work with — and it’s happening in cities, suburbs, and small towns across the country.

Why Is This Happening?

Veteran homelessness is a complex storm made up of:

  • Mental health challenges (especially PTSD, depression, anxiety)

  • Substance use and self-medication

  • Unemployment or underemployment after service

  • Lack of affordable housing

  • Disconnected support systems

What makes it even harder? Veterans often don’t ask for help. Pride, trauma, and a deep sense of isolation keep many of them silent — until it’s too late.

These Are Our People

They’re not strangers.
They’re fathers, daughters, mothers, brothers — neighbors who once wore the uniform with pride. People who ran toward danger so others wouldn’t have to.

Now, they need someone to show up for them.
